Review of the new CZ SP-01 Competition 9mm

Little informative post on the new CZ just recently released.
SP-01 Competition 9mm 4.6″ these will be available in blue or red grip.
This one is mine, and it’s a was designed for competitive shooting, range fun, and home defense.
It comes with two 21 round Mags with matching color extended aluminum base pads

A competition hammer with competition hammer spring to give you a crisp light trigger pull.
The DA is according to my trigger gauge at 6.8 pounds but where it shines is at the SA at 3.2 lbs. It comes with a light recoil spring to be able to run common 9mm target loads.
The weight is 41oz vs the weight of the Shadow 2 which comes in at 46.5oz
So why did they make this when the Shadow 2 is at same price point amd arguably one the best competition guns for production divison.
That’s where you need to understand competition rules. The Shadow 2 is production legal, but is not legal for IDPA the SP-01 will be according to CZ legal to use for IDPA, and USPSA. ( once enough units are sold to be on the USPSA production list)
This will also make for an excellent home defense weapon as it does have a rail to mount your favorite Weapon light, plus 21+1 rounds is hard to argue with.
The CZ SP-01 Competition uses the SP-01 Tactical holster so lots of holster options out there and The cz 75 Mags will still work on this too so lots of magazine availability.

The CZ Spo1 is an excellent shooter with a very natural aim those who own the CZ SP-01 Tactical, CZ 75, Po-1 will find this gun even more accurate then the others given its excellent trigger and bright fiber optic front sight.
If your looking for a new CZ and want to get one that’s ready to play hard don’t hesitate get a CZ- SP-01 you will absolutely love it.

Want to learn more about USPSA head over to Castlewood Rod & Gun Club on Thursday nights where they hold indoor practice matches open to the public
You can reach out to them for more information

The USPSA season starts in spring at Castlewood Rod and Gun Club I highly encourage anyone looking to try it out to go there it’s a lot of fun, get a lot of trigger time practicing shooting targets, great for those who understand the basic rules of gun safety and handling and the guys there are great ans most importantly very welcoming to new shooters.
