In business since 1976, Duke’s Sport Shop is a family owned and operated store and firearms dealer located in New Castle, PA. We have grown from a small home-based gun shop to the area’s largest department store for all your shooting and hunting needs.
In 2020, we began our e-commerce operations and have been selling our store products and shipping to internet buyers throughout the United States. Our online inventory items are real-time in store products. In addition, we have greatly increased our social media presence and YouTube Channel.
Our philosophy is to provide our local store and online customers with the highest level of personal customer service while offering desired products at reasonable prices.
Shooting, hunting, fishing and other related outdoor sports are very popular in Western Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas. We enjoy engaging with our local customers daily, sharing our industry knowledge and assisting with any of their needs. We support numerous local gun and hunting clubs and other organizations and spend many weekends at raffles to support their events. Duke’s Sport Shop is well known in the community and the leading firearms dealer in the area. We also proudly support our law enforcement and military.
We uphold the same personal service and attention with our online customers. We support first time and repeat buyers with individual assistance on anything they need prior to, during and after their purchases.
The store is loaded with firearms, ammunition, shooting sports equipment, hunting products, safes, and other related products. We are also a Class III dealer for all your silencer and SBR needs.
Duke’s Sport Shop was started in 1976, by Duke and Bev Morosky as a small part-time home-based gun shop. Duke had another full-time job but worked hard to maintain the shop in the evenings and on the weekends. He is a big gun and hunting enthusiast, as well as a collector. Their son Wes quickly developed an interest and became involved with the shop at a young grade school age. Duke, Bev and Wes worked numerous hours at the shop and went to many gun shows over the years.
When Duke retired from his full-time job, and Wes was a few years post-college graduation, it was time to move the shop to a larger store location. In 1995, a building in the city, owned by Duke and Bev, became the first commercial store location. Duke, Wes and Bev worked to grow the store rapidly over the next several years. They served the local community well and still enjoyed traveling to gun and vendor-buying shows.
Business remained strong and profitable and was ready for expansion. In 2003, the larger facility on Route 422 in New Castle was built and remains the current home of Duke’s Sport Shop, Inc.
The business continued to grow, and in 2014, Missy joined Duke’s Sport Shop full-time with years of accounting and finance experience. She introduced new technology while implementing the POS inventory system and the e-commerce store operations.
Wes currently operates the store full-time along with many knowledgeable loyal staff members, several of which have been with us for many years. He and his staff continue to serve the community and grow the legacy his father started in 1976.
