The “Old Reliable” 1874 Sharps was the buffalo hunter’s sporting rifle used on the frontier by the likes of Buffalo Bill Cody and Bat Masterson! It was widely used with great and devastating effect on the seemingly endless herds of buffalo by the frontiersman of the era. This version of the 1874 Sharps is a recreation of the rifle used by Tom Selleck in the movie “Quigley Down Under”. It features a receiver, breechblock, and trigger plate all machined from the same solid piece of steel for a perfect match. The lock plate and trigger guard are contoured to the hand oil-finished walnut stock. A tumbler fly on the double set trigger allows adjustment so that the trigger can be sensitized to release ever so softly. The one-piece tang is pre-drilled with 2-1/4″ center-to-center holes for Creedmore Sight placement (not included). Made for Taylor’s & Co by Chiappa, the 1874 Sharps is an excellent reproduction and fantastic addition to any collection!
